1\/4 teaspoon salt
1\/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 1\/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1\/2 cup milk
1\/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
Zest of 2 lemons<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instructions:<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preheat your oven to 350\u00b0F (175\u00b0C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until well incorporated.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and lemon zest until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
