2 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups potatoes, thinly sliced
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, diced
1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional toppings: chopped parsley, crispy bacon bits
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Add diced onions and minced garlic, cooking until the onions are softened and translucent. Drain any excess fat.
Layer half of the thinly sliced potatoes in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly over the layer of potatoes.
Top the beef mixture with the remaining potatoes.
In a separate bowl, mix together the condensed cream of mushroom soup and milk. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Pour the soup mixture over the potatoes, ensuring they are evenly coated.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden
