Crispy Homemade Egg Rolls

Ingredients:

1 cup shredded cabbage
1/2 cup shredded carrots
1 package egg roll wrappers
1 lb ground pork or chicken
1/4 cup chopped green onions
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tsp grated ginger
1/4 tsp black pepper
Oil for frying

Instructions:

In a large skillet, brown and cook the ground pork or chicken over medium heat. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Add shredded cabbage, carrots, green onions, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until vegetables soften slightly.
Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, and black pepper. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until well combined. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner facing you. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of filling onto the center of the wrapper.
Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold the sides towards the center, and roll tightly. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water to seal the egg roll.
Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry the egg rolls in batches for 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy
