Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Place a large baking dish filled with water on the bottom rack of the oven to create a water bath.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until well combined and slightly frothy.
Heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat until it’s warm but not boiling.
Gradually pour the warm milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly to combine.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
Pour the custard mixture into individual ramekins or a baking dish.
Sprinkle ground nutmeg or cinnamon on top of each custard.
Carefully place the ramekins or baking dish in the water bath in the preheated oven.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the custard is set around the edges but slightly jiggly in the center.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving
